Stage 2 - TreatmentStage 1 - ConsultationWe will arrange a free consultation to assess your suitability for a dental bridge. Your dentist will discuss the treatment and any alternative options, as well as answer any questions you may have.
Stage 2 - TreatmentThe treatment is relatively straightforward and usually requires two appointments. In your first appointment, the adjacent teeth are prepared and an impression is taken for the bridge. This is all done under a local anaesthetic as drilling is required. A temporary bridge can be fitted whilst you wait for your next appointment.
In your second appointment (usually a week later), your bridge is fitted.
A dental bridge is a fairly straight forward tooth replacement treatment. No surgery is required and it is a faster and more affordable treatment than dental implants.
Dental bridges are recommended for patients who have broken or decayed adjacent teeth.
We usually offer a porcelain bridge or a fusion of porcelain and metal. Maryland dental bridges are also available. For more information on types of dental bridges, please ask your dentist at your consultation.
With good care, dental bridges can last between 7-10 years. The material used can also be a factor, so don’t hesitate to ask your dentist about the types of bridges available.
