HYGIENIST

TREATMENT FROM £75

TREATMENT OVERVIEW

ABOUT THIS TREATMENT

Whilst brushing and flossing are essential parts of any good dental regime, alone they are not enough. A trip to the dental hygienist can help improve your smile and oral health, and includes a thorough cleaning of the gums and teeth.

An appointment with our dental hygienist lasts approximately 30 minutes and during this time, they will remove build up of plaque that has hardened over time. In addition, your hygienist will remove any surface stains caused by dietary habits or smoking. They will also offer advice bespoke to you on how you can have healthier gums and teeth. Seeing a dental hygienist is important as they can identify early signs of gum disease, screen for oral cancer as well as cure bad breath.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS TREATMENT

Our hygienists use ultrasonic scalers to remove hardened plaque or calculus, in areas of your mouth that can be difficult to reach.  Plaque, over time, becomes impossible to remove by regular brushing or flossing, so it’s important to see a hygienist. If left untreated, this can lead to gum disease or tooth loss.

A dental hygienist can remove surface stains which build up from drinking tea, coffee or wine. However, you may want to consider teeth whitening to tackle more stubborn discolouring of teeth.

Dental Hygienists are specially trained to clean teeth and gums. They are here to offer advice on how to improve your dental hygiene. Dental hygienists will work closely with dentists to help keep your teeth and gums healthy.
