TREATMENT FROM £180
A tooth extraction may be needed for any number of reasons. This could be due to damage, decay or advanced periodontal disease. Some teeth may need removing for cosmetic reasons or in preparation for orthodontic treatment. We understand tooth extraction can feel like a last resort, which is why your dentist will discuss with you all options available, as well as ways to replace the tooth should you need to proceed with an extraction.
Our dentists will be there with you every step of the way to guide you on how to prepare for the treatment, as well as offering aftercare advice.
One of our dentists will discuss with you the tooth extraction procedure in detail and advise you how to prepare for the appointment. Should other options be available, the dentist will share those with you. You will have the opportunity to ask as many questions as you wish, and to get information on treatments to replace the missing tooth/teeth.
One of our highly trained dentists will ensure that the tooth extraction is as smooth as possible. The procedure takes place under a local anaesthetic, and sedation is available for nervous patients. Whilst you won’t feel any pain, it is normal to feel a little pressure as the dentist removes the tooth.
Once the tooth is extracted, your dentist will dress your gums to stop bleeding. This should only last a few minutes, and you should be able to return to your daily business shortly after. Your dentist will give you detailed aftercare guidance and may be able to prescribe you painkillers. The dentist may also book a review appointment to ensure you have healed with no complications or inconveniences.
The procedure is performed under a local anaesthetic which means you will feel no pain. However, you will feel pressure as the dentist removes the tooth.
Many options are available to you should you need to replace a missing tooth after an extraction. These include dental implants, bridges and dentures. We recommend talking through your available options with your dentist prior to treatment.
